Desc: Trapiche: Directed by Luis Villacís. Amidst the Andinean mountains in southern Colombia, a group of peasants is grinding loads of sugar cane to make panela. Various themes are constantly interwoven without a determined hierarchy or an apparent narrative to construct a representation of this process. The wandering back and forth, the breaks, the conversations, the different occupations, the trades, the horses, the insects, the ground, the rain, the fire, the mist, the smoke, the music, the tiredness, the landscape, all shaping a particular look into the diversity of bonds that are created along with the grinding of the cane.
